Baity & Assoc. Tax Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide comprehensive tax and financial services to our clients in order to enable them to meet their personal and business goals more effectively. We are committed to offering our clients valuable time and money saving tips, along with professional, ethical and courteous service. By continuously updating our bookkeeping and tax knowledge through seminars and classes throughout the year, we can make certain your tax returns are not only in compliance, but make available to you the most current benefits possible to reduce tax liabilities.

Debra Baity | Principal / Enrolled Agent

Debra joined the firm of Robert Chessher Financial Services (previous owner) on April 12, 1999, bringing with her many years of private industry Bookkeeping and Tax Preparation experience.

She passed the IRS Enrolled Agents Exam in October of 2000 in addition to becoming an Accredited Tax Preparer, a credential presented by ACAT. Three years later – on March 1, 2003, she became a partner in Chessher & Baity Financial Services. In July 2003, Debra purchased the company and changed the name to its current moniker – Baity & Assoc. Tax and Financial Services, Inc. – where she continues in the Bookkeeping and Tax Preparation service field.

As a requirement to maintain her licenses, Debra continues to update her Bookkeeping and Tax knowledge by attending numerous seminars and classes throughout the year. She is also an active member of the National Society of Accountants (NSA) and National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA).

After the rush of Tax Season, Debra and her husband, Allen, enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends, particularly snow skiing in Colorado. She has two sons, Jerad and Austin. Her youngest son, Austin, is currently enrolled at Baylor University. Her oldest son, Jerad, is a Texas A&M graduate and currently works at the firm.

Jerad Heintschel | Managing Director

Jerad is a graduate of Texas A&M’s Mays School of Business. His knowledge and degree in Business Management make him a valuable asset to the office of Baity & Assoc. in his role as Revenue Analyst. Jerad provides bookkeeping and payroll services to many business clients of Baity & Assoc. Internally, Jerad takes care of IT problems around Baity & Assoc., and even wears the Marketing and HR hats from time-to-time.

In his free time, Jerad enjoys rooting for the Rockets and Texans, jamming on the bass, and not having car problems. Car problems are the worst.

Michelle Hiller | Senior Tax Specialist/Enrolled Agent

Michelle joined our firm November 1, 2010, bringing with her 13 years of personal tax preparation experience as well as several years of private industry accounting.

Michelle received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Houston – Clear Lake in 1990. Her ongoing commitment to excellence requires that she attend numerous classes and seminars throughout the year. Michelle puts this education to work by providing bookkeeping, payroll, and tax preparation services of all kinds to our clients. Her Enrolled Agent title and ATP credentials prove the dedication she has to her craft.

In her personal time, she and her husband stay very busy with their four children, all of which are very active in extracurriculars. Her daughter is a competitive gymnast for the University of Oklahoma and their three boys are very active in a variety of activities including Baseball, Football, and Theatre.

Brandy Dickson | Senior Tax Specialist/Enrolled Agent

Brandy Dickson joined our firm in July 2011, bringing with her 10 years of personal tax preparation experience as well as 11 years of business ownership knowledge.

Brandy handles an array of tax preparation duties, from corporate to personal returns, and assists clients with QuickBooks® training, set-up, and review. She is constantly pursuing educational opportunities for tax and financial planning to better serve you, our clients. Brandy is also a part of our Marketing team, making great use of her outgoing nature. She has never met and stranger, is eager to learn, and relishes the opportunity to teach others.

In her personal time, Brandy loves to travel. She enjoys both work and play on her “farm” in the country and spends as much time as she can with her grandchildren and family. She loves to root for the Astros, and is active in the community as a member of the American SIDS Institute and other charities, assisting them with their annual fundraising events.

Vicki Hemminger | Tax Specialist/Enrolled Agent

Vicki joined Baity & Assoc. back in May 2016, bringing substantial tax preparation and bookkeeping experience with her.

Vicki has also passed the exams required to become an Enrolled Agent; this is a big deal in the Tax arena. To keep up with the ever-changing tax laws and procedures, she must complete educational courses through-out the year. Fortunately, she loves to learn and believes in the motto “You’re never too old to learn something new.”

After hours, Vicki stays busy trying to keep up with her niece’s and nephew’s sports calendars. It’s a good thing she likes Volleyball, Track, Softball, Football and Basketball. Vicki enjoys watching the games and spending time with her family.

Merika Barker |  Senior Bookkeeper

Merika joined the firm in November of 2020 and we have been thrilled to have her on the team!

Merika received her Bachelor of Accounting from Sam Houston State University and brings with her to Baity and Assoc. 20 years of experience in various accounting roles.

Merika enjoys traveling with her husband, particularly to Belize and enjoys spending her down time to cooking, reading mystery/thriller novels, and playing with their Great Dane.

JenniferJennifer Ortega |  Bookkeeper Specialist

Jennifer joined the staff in August of 2019 and graduated from San Jacinto College the following December with an Associates In Applied Science in Accounting Degree.

Jennifer plans to further her education at U of H Clear Lake, with her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.

She enjoys spending time with her Husband and son, Cesar. When she has free time, she enjoys volunteering at her son’s school and going on road trips with her family.

Jennifer’s bubbly personality fills the office with joy, and we are grateful to have her on the team.

Jessica Hebert | Client Services Manager

Jessica joined the Baity team in November of 2014. She is well versed in our policies and procedures, making her a true asset at Baity & Assoc. As our Client Services Manager, Jessica uses that knowledge to assist current clients and also properly inform prospective clients. Her desire is that the community know Baity & Assoc. is here to help in all tax matters and to ensure that each client is given the proper Baity & Assoc. treatment.

A giver at heart, Jessica’s passion is volunteering her time to those in need. Of particular interest is the Sanctuary Home, an orphanage she raises money for and visits in India. She regularly brightens our day with her positive attitude and fun sense of humor.

lilianaLiliana Delgado | Office Administrator

Liliana is our Office Administrator that will likely be the friendly face that welcomes you when you enter or the sweet voice that answers when you call. She is currently a dedicated Business Administrative student who has been invited to compete nationally in Computer Applications, Business Communication and Construction Management. The critical thinking, organization, and technology-based skills that allow her to excel in these competitions are also used here every day to better serve our clients.

With the little time she has left after work and school, she enjoys cheering on the University of Houston Cougars football team with her husband and spending time with her family.

TehganTehgan Rutland | Office Assistant

Tehgan joined Baity & Assoc. at the beginning of 2019 as our Administrative Assistant. Her inherent work ethic combined with her desire for knowledge and growth within the firm has made a wonderful addition to our team. In addition to the many skills she utilizes within the office, she is an incredibly skilled artist who loves drawing, painting and clay sculpting. When not working in the office or creating art, her time is evenly spent caring for her many animals, rescuing new animals or attempting (unsuccessfully) to grow indoor plants.

Gloria Evans |  Office Assistant

Gloria joined the firm as an intern while studying at San Jacinto College. She graduated with her Associates of Applied Science in Accounting degree in May of 2020.

Gloria was made an official team member in October of 2020 and we couldn’t be more thrilled with having her on the team.

Gloria enjoys learning new skills and gaining more knowledge about her new career field.

When Gloria’s not working, she loves shopping for deals, being close to the water, and has even picked up a new hobby of diamond painting! Gloria also enjoys dressing up in fancy costumes for the holidays.
